SKM Jennifer Hudson: “I’m doing it the right way”

SKM Jennifer Hudson looks amazing! Hudson, who gave birth to son David Daniel Otunga Jr. just 7 months ago, announced on GMA yesterday that she has signed on as the latest spokesperson for the weight-loss company.

Of her weight loss, the actress, who gained over 20 pounds for her Oscar-winning role as Effie in 2006’s ‘Dreamgirls,’ says, “[It's] A lifestyle change, not a diet.”

“I am enjoying the weight loss because I’m doing it the right way — I feel empowered with what I’ve learned, everything from portion control to what foods will help keep me satisfied,” says Hudson.

The ease of the plan is a major factor in the busy mom’s success. She says, “I can follow the plan no matter where I am, still enjoy my favorite foods and even use the iPhone app to track my points.”

Attending meetings are essential to the Weight Watchers Program and while she was in Chicago on Wednesday, Hudson surprised a very happy group of folks at a Weight Watchers meeting at the Century complex at Clark and Diversey.

SKM Kelis prepared a meal for 36 people at the W South Beach in Miami for Belvedere Vodka’s Cocktail Pairing Dinner during Winter Music Conference on Thursday evening (March 25). Who knew this singer and fab mom attended culinary school? According to Rap-Up.com, Kelis graduated from Le Cordon Bleu culinary school. Her guests dined on duck salad, red snapper, and bread pudding.

This is making me want to step my culinary skills up. Go ahead now Kelis!

SKM Ming-Na recently chatted with io9.com about her upcoming series, Stargate University.

Ming, what are your thoughts on the controversial body-swapping issue that’s been getting play online?

Ming-Na: Doing the stone thing? I think most of our characters do the body-swapping and for us it’s definitely a necessity because one of the great things about Stargate the franchise is that it’s current – it takes place in our time. And if we lose that connection to Earth, it loses a big part of whatStargate’s about. It’s about keeping things current and whatever’s going on in the world now is part of our show. So I love the fact that we do it. It gives a lot of back story about the characters and dealing with issues without having to do flashback scenes.

What would you say you like most about the women on SGU?

Ming-Na: I love everything about the women on SGU. They’re strong and sexy, thank you very much!

Ming, we’ve been hearing rumors that you’ll be assuming a leadership role this season. Care to elaborate?

Ming-Na: What I think that’s so fantastic about Wray is that she’s thrown into a situation that she normally wouldn’t find herself in, and she’s absolutely challenged to figure out what she can do and in the process she discovers what she is and isn’t capable of. It’s a real learning curve. I’m hoping that that process will help us move forward with what the ship is able to do and what Destiny can offer us.

“Our Family Wedding”-New York Premiere

Last night in NYC at the AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13 theater, a few celebrity Sunkissed Mommies were in attendance for the premiere of the comedy, “Our Family Wedding”.

Sunkissed Mommy Regina King stars in the film as Angela, a longtime friend of Whitaker’s character, who is also his attorney. Their relationship becomes complicated once they become unexpectedly romantic.

“Our Family Wedding,” opens March 12.

Actress Salma Hayek attends Nickelodeon’s launch of Dora The Explorer’s 10th anniversary with the ‘Beyond The Backpack’ Campaign held at the Nickelodeon Animation Studio on March 2, 2010 in Burbank, California.

Nickelodeon is marking the 10th anniversary of the world’s most beloved Latina heroine, Dora the Explorer, with a unique pro-social campaign titled “Beyond the Backpack” that champions overall school readiness for preschoolers. The campaign will serve as the key component of Nickelodeon’s overall plans for Dora the Explorer’s anniversary, and will consist of a PSA campaign featuring Salma Hayek Pinault and Dora herself; a fundraising auction of limited-edition Dora backpacks, with designs by Hayek Pinault and other celebrities; financial grants; a dedicated web site with downloadable toolkits for parents and educators; and local community activities across the country. Nickelodeon’s anniversary plans for Dora also include four prime-time TV specials; an original documentary produced by Academy Award®-nominated Brett Morgen (The Kid Stays in the Picture); and new online Dora content for preschoolers and their parents.
